Abstract

The impact testing and testing is one of the methods used to determine the hardness, strength, and ductility of the material. Aims to recognize the operating conditions of materials that are often encountered where the load does not always occur slowly but comes suddenly. The design of this charpy method impact test equipment was made to test ST.37 steel material, designed using the Americcan Standard Testing and Material (ASTM) standard. With dimensions measuring 1300 mm high x 800 mm wide x 1500 mm long, with a pendulum weight of 15 kg, it gets 150 Joules of pontensial energy, with a pendulum drive shaft of M = 7729.2 Nmm, and undergoes a Shear Stress of (σa) 4.83 kg /mm2.
